Apogee

Apogee pioneered the shareware gamerevolution in 1987 by inventing the conceptof game demos, distributed online, whichadvertised the remaining episodes in aseries. Before this time, game demos andepisodic releases were unheard of. Theseconcepts created by Apogee have becomemainstream today. Apogee's amazing historyincludes the original releases ofCommander Keen(tm) (1990), DukeNukem(tm) (1991), Wolfenstein3-D(tm) (1992), Raptor(tm) (1993),and Rise of the Triad(tm) (1994), justto name a few.
