The Sims 4 launch trailer is very keen on hashtags

I respect this man’s grumpiness.

A ‘launch’ trailer ten days before the game comes out is perhaps pushing it a bit, but The Sims 4 doesn’t care for your petty word definitions. It does care how you feel about hashtags though. Or it should, because they’re all over the place in this video.

It’s mostly a visual medley of various Sims going about their Sim-like business in a quirky manner. In fact, the whole presentation (and backing song by Fitz and the Tantrums) seems to encapsulate what Maxis has been going for with The Sims 4. Less life simulator, more bonkers weirdness. That’s something Sims games have always had, of course, it just really seems to be a focus this time. Hence the distinct lack of “ordinary” job options in the game.

Is this new Sims game going to be any good? Will the stripping out of features leave players feeling like The Sims 4 is too bare bones? Or will everything turn out to be just fine? Your guess is as good as ours, because it looks like reviewers will be playing it at the same time as everybody else. Gotta protect those pre-orders, you know.

The Sims 4 is coming to PC on 2 September. You can see the trailer, below.

So what? All this video shows is a whole lot of emotions an strange walk styles. There is nothing about the creating process, such as color wheels, normal careers etc… I´m thinking more of a frat-party than a Sims-game. I´m sticking with The Sims 3 for now.
