Assassin’s Creed Unity delayed to November28 Aug 2014
Horror: Ubisoft have denied Assassin’s Creed Unity until November. At least it’s not the biggest delay in the world.
This delay means we’re only going from 28 October to 11 November, but for crying out loud, this means that November is even more ridiculous than before. That’s the same release date as Ubisoft’s The Crew, the same (console) release date as spin-off thing Assassin’s Creed Rogue, a couple of days before Pro Evo 2015 and the latest World of Warcraft expansion, and a week before Dragon Age Inquisition and Far Cry 4. What the hell?
Thankfully, Ubisoft are very quick to say that this “has no impact on the company’s full year financial targets”, because that’s what we’re all worried about. Not about having to take two extra jobs to actually afford all of these games, and then having to quit every job to have time to play them.
As you might expect, this release date change is down to the final bits of polish – and it isn’t just for PC, for once! “As we got close to the finish, we realised we were near the target but still needed a bit more time to hone some of the details to make sure Assassin’s Creed Unity is exceptional,” said senior producer Vincent Pontbriand. “We sincerely appreciate players’ commitment to the game and their patience. It’s just a couple more weeks. And it’s going to be worth it.” I’m sure.
Assassin’s Creed Unity is now due out on 11 November in the US, and 13 November in Europe. Along with basically every other fucking game this year.Related to this story
