Transistor transmits some minimum PC specs and features
As Transistor ebbs closer to its 20 May release date, Supergiant Games releases some minimum PC specs and a few more details. Supergiant’s second title (after the excellent Bastion) probably won’t be too demanding on your machine, although a requirement for Windows 7 or later might prevent a few older boxes from running it.
Here’s what you’ll need at the very least to get Transistor going:
OS: Windows 7 or newer
CPU: 2.6GHz Dual Core CPU or greater
RAM: 4GB or greater
GPU: 1GB Video RAM or greater, e.g. Intel HD Graphics 3000, Nvidia 9400 GT, AMD HD 5450
Hard Drive Space: 4GB free
The game will require Steam to run, and includes a few Steam-related features as a result.
Full controller support & fully remappable controls
Steamworks support including cloud saves, achievements, & trading cards
DRM-free: You can play the game offline if you want
I’d imagine some would disagree with that “DRM-free” aspect since you do need Steam to get the game running to begin with. Strictly speaking, that’s some DRM.
Anyway, on the very same page that describes these PC-related aspects, it’s now possible to pre-order Transistor direct from Supergiant. It’s still a Steam key, but this way they should retain more of the money. It’s also possible to acquire a copy with a digital version of the game’s soundtrack. That’s likely to be a good listen, if Bastion was anything to go by.
