Darude fans: this episode is for you. Insofar as we’ll probably not mention Darude on the podcast ever again, so this is the episode for all your Darude references. He’s (sort of) a stretch goal for DOTA 2’s magical Compendium book, in case you’re wondering why he’d even come up at all.

Post-Darude, Tim McDonald and myself are discussing Ubisoft’s underwhelming Far Cry 4 reveal, Zenimax’s legal interest in Oculus VR, the funding of SUPER HOT and Titanfall having some modes removed from public playlists. Plus mentions of X Rebirth 2.0 and Namco’s efforts to keep Dark Souls alive on PC post Games for Windows Live.

But the bulk of the podcast chat is about Wolfenstein: The New Order and The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing 2. If you want to know precisely how much like The Man in the High Castle this new Wolfenstein is, this episode will provide your answer. Mostly. There are comparisons to the Riddick games and musings about shooting lots of Nazis. As you’d expect really.

My thoughts on Van Helsing 2 contain fewer references to Philip K Dick, but more references to sassy ghosts and aRPG mechanics.

You can stream or download the podcast audio, below. Whichever you fancy. Or do both, why not? More podcasts can be found in our archives, and over at iTunes as well.

Is Paul ok? if he is stressed at the moment, perhaps it would help if I rang him and shouted “HELMET HELMET HELMET” at the top of my voice, down the phone with no explanation, just a idea

If you did that then I would have to ban you ;) Seriously though I am fine, just a lot on at the moment to deal with on the sites. I will be back. Muahahah!

  3. Paul! delegate more work. I advise Tim… all he does is the odd review now and then and play the bongos, and kill innocent spiders with some weird light sabre thing (I still don’t understand what the hell that thing was)

Great podcast as usual chaps. Yeah Dynasty Warriors 4 was good on PC at the time, particularly co-op. Good to see later editions return to PC as well, but would be good to see more Japanese games release on PC like Monster Hunter Genuine G, Capcom would make no end of money with that :D. Other fighting games like DOA5U would also be welcome from Temco.
