Tales from the Borderlands - 04

Obviously, the PC version won’t have the 360 button overlay. Unless you’re using a 360 controller, I guess.

Telltale have pushed out five in-game screenshots from Tales from the Borderlands, and you might be able to spot a few familiar characters.

Tales from the Borderlands is Telltale’s… whatever Telltale does. Non-rubbish interactive movie? Digital fiction? Choice-and-consequence-based storytelling title? Anyway: it’s Telltale’s whatever, only set in the Borderlands universe. Players alternate between two characters – ambitious Hyperion data-miner Rhys, and Pandora-born con-artist Fiona – each of whom have their own goals, agendas, and takes on the events that follow.

As Borderlands is a ludicrously rich universe with plenty of wonderful characters, you can expect to see a lot of people returning from previous titles. Masked assassin Zer0 can be seen in the screens below, but he’s not the only familiar face. If his mask counts as a face, anyway.

Additionally, a post on the Official Playstation Blog (of all things) has offered some further details. For starters, the game is set after the events of Borderlands 2, so this’ll be the first look at the events that follow. Secondly – and perhaps more importantly – any loot you grab in Tales from the Borderlands will be usable in “other areas of the Borderlands franchise.” Whether that means Borderlands 2 or the forthcoming Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, I have no idea, but I’m sure we’ll find out soon.

The first episode of Tales from the Borderlands is due to launch this summer.
