Bombshell ARPG from Interceptor and 3D Realms coming in 2015

Bombshell

The team behind the Rise of the Triad reboot, Interceptor Entertainment, are back with a new PC title next year which will be published by 3D Realms.

Called Bombshell, this top-down action role-playing game features protagonist Shelly “Bombshell” Harrison as she adventures across four planets to save the U.S. President from an apocalyptic alien threat.

The game isn’t exactly being original when it comes to the story but perhaps this Unreal Engine-powered title, which they say will feature “devastating weaponry and a variety genre-crossing mechanics”, will surprise us all and take the ARPG genre in a new direction.

The game is due for release in 2015 and will be shown at E3 this year. The first pieces of media were also sent over and I have to say it’s visually appealing. The shots below show art and some in-game action, but no game reveal would be complete without a trailer…

Holy damn, is this a joke?

That looks like a launch trailer from 1999.
The animation is awful, so stale and cringe worthy, the “clear” effect on the objects on the table look rubbish.

Then I saw the screenshots .. wow, even worse. It really looks like something out of date before it’s released. So many “new” games come out these days and fail. It makes you wonder what the developers were thinking, couldn’t they see what everyone else could?

If you are going to make a teaser announcement to generate interest, please put effort into it.

If this is 100% serious, I feel embarrassed for this company.

More than happy to eat my words if this turns out well.
