free to play

Free To Play is now available for pre-load on Steam.

Free To Play is Valve’s (free) documentary about Dota 2, although before you roll your eyes and click away, I should point out that it focuses more on the players than the game. It follows three gamers – Danylo “Dendi” Ishutin, Benedict “HyHy” Lim, and Clinton “Fear” Loomis – on the road to the first International tournament and its million dollar prize.

Thus far, pretty much everything said about it has been hugely positive. Much like the excellent Indie Game: The Movie, I have a sneaking suspicion that it’s going to be highly watchable by even those who’re clueless about the Dota 2 scene… but I suppose we’ll find out on 19 March.

Free To Play is available as a 4.2GB pre-load now. If you want to get it on your hard drive ready for the movie’s release, head on over to this Steam page and click the “Pre-load now” link. As far as I can tell it’s entirely free, so why not?

Amusingly, Steam is listing the movie as having trading cards and achievements. So, uh… yeah.
