SEGA PC Ports petition nears 10k signatures24 Mar 2014
The NeoGaf driven campaign to get a few more of SEGA’s better titles on to PC is gathering pace, as the petition launched back in mid January gets close to 10,000 signatures. That’s not some cheeky bit of rounding up from 9,500, either. It’s quite literally 30-40 people away from being 10,000 at this moment.
This player-led movement has a pretty simple aim in mind; convince SEGA to port more games over to the PC. The publisher has been fairly active on the platform of late (with games like Binary Domain and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance making a successful jump) so it seems reasonable to show appreciation for that and say “hey, why not try a few more.”
Some obvious fantasy candidates mentioned by the petition itself are Bayonetta and Vanquish, which seem like they’d be popular choices. Virtua Fighter 5 is also listed as a possibility.
“We’re requesting that you port these initial three so that we can demonstrate that the PC market will support this type of content, allowing you to then make a better determination as to which games will best suit your PC audience going forward,” the petition reads.
SEGA has been paying some attention to this too. In January, the publisher’s community team said it was “aware of the movement” but had no official comment to make at the time.
Further signatures and a solid base of support for additional SEGA games on PC might go some way towards convincing them to make that additional investment.Related to this story
