Deus Ex: Mankind Divided trademarked, hopefully better than The Fall

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided trademarked, hopefully better than The Fall
Deus Ex Universe

That enigmatic Deus Ex artwork from last October.

Here we go again folks. As dug up by the trademark-watchers at NeoGaf, has filed a UK trademark application for the term Square Enix: Mankind Divided. It was submitted on 14 March and popped up in the EU’s “Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market” (what a weird name) database today.

The trademark would cover all manner of computer software, printed works and general “entertainment services.”

Now, the last time I got excited about something like this it turned out to be . Hopefully whatever this is won’t turn out to be a mobile game followed by a rubbish PC port of a mobile game.

Chances are it relates to the information released by Eidos Montreal’s David Anfossi last October. At that time, the studio was planning some kind of multi-game, multi-media “experience” under the umbrella term Deus Ex: Universe. A lot of it sounded like total guff, but among the worrying chat about a million bad comic book tie-ins and tablet titles there was mention of ongoing work on a “next gen” and glorious PC Deus Ex game.

might be just such a game. The lone piece of artwork released at that time (above) was said to show “trans-humanism segregation” which would fit with the title. I mean, it’s either that or the conspiracy is going to be focused on wrestler Mick Foley.
