Valve extends Dota 2’s Year of the Horse submission deadline16 Jan 2014
As previously mentioned, the next event for Dota 2 will be a spring event called “Year of the Horse”, based around the Chinese New Year. As also previously mentioned, Valve want Workshop submissions themed around spring, the Chinese New Year, and Chinese culture for items they can release in this event.
Previously, the deadline for these submissions was 15 January (that’s yesterday, date fans). A blog post on the Dota 2 site, though, has revealed that the deadline has extended 20 January (Monday) due to some technical issues on Valve’s end.
Chinese New Year is 31 January, so I assume we’ll be seeing something around then. I’m curious as to whether we’ll see any new heroes, myself; the Corrupted items added in Wraith-Night had gems tracking “Demons Imprisoned” – which appears to increment for every kill on a demonic hero – so it’s not inconceivable we could see Abyssal Underlord or Soul Keeper. The former is more likely, considering his lore is apparently related to the recently-released Legion Commander. Mind you, Phoenix (which would make a degree of sense for an event about a new year, as well as a Chinese-themed event) is also apparently pretty close to done. Maybe we’ll get both? We can but hope.
