Star Wars 1313 now even more dead than before
Alas, the Star Wars title described as “the one that actually looks quite good” – Star Wars 1313 – is now even more dead than it was before, as Disney have allowed the game’s trademark to lapse.
The Escapist spotted this particular trademark update, with Star Wars 1313‘s page on the US Patent and Trademark Office now listing the trademark’s status as “Abandoned because no Statement of Use or Extension Request timely filed after Notice of Allowance was issued.” The game itself was cancelled when Disney shut down LucasArts, but some hope remained that the game might wind up getting developed somewhere else. While that’s still a possibility as the trademark could always be renewed, this indicates that there’s no work happening on the game, and no plans for anything to be done with it.
Star Wars 1313 was a third-person shooter that focused more on the gritty underbelly of Star Wars, with players investigating the dangerous Level 1313 of Coruscant as bounty hunter Boba Fett, during the height of the Galactic Empire. No force powers or lightsabers here: just guns and gadgets. It was the one that actually looked quite good.Related to this story
