2014 Unspecified Release Dates

The Division (Ubisoft Massive, 2014)

The Division

Tom Clancy’s The Ghost of Tom Clancy Presents Multiplayer Open World Third-Person Shooter Dystopia in a Nice New Graphics Engine: The Game.

Don Bradman Cricket 14 (Big Ant Studios, 2014)

Don Bradman Cricket 14

In order to beat Ashes Cricket 2013’s record, it has to be released for more than one day and not be terrible. I’m fairly confident Big Ant can manage that. With any luck, it’ll actually be as good as the glory days of the Brian Lara Cricket series.

Call of Duty: Subtitle (Activision Studio, November 2014)

Call of Duty Ghosts - 09

Unless Activision has sworn off money for 2014, this will happen.

Dragon Age: Inquisition (BioWare, Q4 2014):

Dragon Age 3: Inquisition (1)

The latest entry in BioWare’s awkward romance simulator series. It’s still pretty far off, but it must be better than Dragon Age 2, right?

Bound by Flame (Spiders Studios, 2014)

bound by flame (4)

The people behind Of Orcs and Men and Mars: War Logs will be back in 2014 with a new RPG. Can’t say much more than that, because I don’t actually know anything more. Oh, except that it’ll be dark fantasy. There we go.

Barkley 2, AKA The Magical Realms of Tír na nÓg: Escape from Necron 7 – Revenge of Cuchulainn: The Official Game of the Movie – Chapter 2 of the Hoopz Barkley SaGa (late 2014)

Barkley 2 (1)

Game of the Year 2014 in waiting.

Child of Light (Ubisoft Montreal, 2014)

Child of Light - 6

Gorgeous looking side-scroller with RPG elements and characters who talk in rhyme all the time. Uses the same engine as the past couple of Rayman games, which explains the gorgeousness.

Clockwork Empires (Gaslamp Games, 2014)

Cor, another city builder. In this one you’re a colonial governor (I think) in a weird, steampunk version of the British Empire. And sinister tentacled monsters are involved, somehow.

Dead State (DoubleBear, 2014)

Dead State (2)

Brian and Annie Mitsoda’s (Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines / Alpha Protocol) surival-based zombie RPG should be out sometime this year. A demo release is planned in early January for Kickstarter backers, showing the first seven in-game days.

Elite: Dangerous (Frontier Developments, 2014)

Elite Dangerous

The long-awaited fourth installment in the Elite series. Since the original game pretty much invented the non-linear, open world space trading and combat genre, it has quite the lineage to live up to.

Endless Legend (Amplitude, 2014)

Endless Legend - Town View

The developers of Endless Space will be taking their 4x strategy skills to fantasy realms for Endless Legend. Unlike Space, this one seems like it will have full-fledged turn-based combat.
