The Elder Scrolls Online

Bethesda has finally announced the release date for The Elder Scrolls Online this afternoon for all the different platforms the MMO will be apearing on.

The PC version of the game will be released worldwide on 4 April 2014 and the console versions will arrive a couple of months later in June. I know, it’s exciting, a PC version gets released before a console version.

Game director Matt Firor says that the two different launch dates are because “demand for The Elder Scrolls Online is extraordinarily high. They want to roll the game out in stages to stop the dreaded MMO server launch issues and any other connectivity problems that you’d expect on launch day.

A new gameplay trailer has also been pushed out called the War in Cyrodiil which highlights The Elder Scrolls Online’s PvP system.

Game Director Matt Firor is excited about the date reveal and issued a special notice to the community in which he thanks beta testers and points out that four million beta testers have signed up so far.

I’ll have to admit that TESO is not an MMO that I’ve been desperate to try, as it looks like more of the same. Then again, every MMO these days looks pretty much the same.

first i was jumping at a chance to get the game, since i know about the P2P model it lost the magic for me.
i would’ve play the game if it was B2P but P2P is a deal breaker.

They have a large enough (huge) fanbase that will see them in good stead with P2P.

Much prefer to have access to everything P2P than have limited access on B2P/F2P with loads of bits on a cash shop. That is just my preference, though.

Genuinely looking forward to this one. MMOs have never really kept me on for long periods of time but the prospect of an ES game as an MMO really appeals to me as long as they stay as true as they can to the original games.

actually B2P is exactly the same as P2P, the only difference is that you pay €50,- in one go instead of €15,- every month.
the thing about how much it restricts is all BS, that’s what the mainstream is saying, not the actual truth.
P2P is actually allot more restricting, you have to pay in order to play, if you don’t pay then everything is closed off.
in B2P you have the exact same game but now you can take a break and return later on without hitting the pay wall again.
