Shadowrun Returns again with Berlin campaign Dragonfall
The not-quite-as-good-as-it-should-have-been Shadowrun Returns will finally be getting its promised Berlin campaign in January, now under the name of Shadowrun: Dragonfall.
Dragonfall will be a full-fledged expansion, costing $14.99 and adding in a whole load of new systems and ideas… like the ability to save anywhere, which should alleviate one of the issues I had with the original title. Other than that, there’ll be new weapons, new cyberware, new enemies and new game editor features.
Perhaps the most interesting news, depending on how much this influences the game design, is that you’ll be operating out of a new hub (obviously, as you’re in Berlin) and choosing which missions to accept. This was technically true for the highly linear Shadowrun Returns, but I’m nonetheless hoping that this implies that Dragonfall will be a little more open and varied.
Dragonfall revolves around a new threat that has something to do with “Dragonfall” (shock), a “long-forgotten event from the earliest days of the Awakened world,” and will cost $14.99 when it launches in January.Related to this story
