Batman: Arkham Origins devs talk patches, bug fixes

Batman Arkham Origins - 13

Batman’s not the only one having tech problems, clearly.

Batman: Arkham Origins didn’t have the best launch. On the one hand, it’s basically a less inventive version of Arkham City. On another, similar-looking hand, it’s broken and buggy. Fear not, though: the devs are aware of this, and are working to fix the bugs! But probably not the game itself.

A post on the WB Games forums from Arkham community manager Mercury outlines the problems that the devs consider most critical, and gives an update on how and when they’ll be fixed. For us PC users, that means four problems!

The first is the bug I mentioned back in the review – “Fix for progression blocker keeping some players from navigating through the vent in the Burnley tower.” This is, apparently, now fixed.

The other three bugs will hopefully be fixed next week. Of these, the first is “Infinite Falling/Falling Out Of World”, which is a bug causing players to get stuck in an infinite loop of falling; the fix is currently in testing. The second is an inability to continue the story, with “Continue” on the main menu being replaced with “New Game.” The third is FreeFlow Focus not unlocking upon reaching Shadow Vigilante Rank 3.

The fix for the tower bug should be available now, and should auto-update when you log into Steam. As for the rest, expect them next week. You can read the full statement for WB Games over here.
