This week on the podcast, the team discuss the return of definitely-not-rubbish film tie-ins as Kick-Ass 2 announces itself to the world. Can this curious collection of malformed bodies and terribly aliased screenshots rival the Ocean Software film tie-in “greats” of the early 90s? We’ll just have to wait and see.

Meanwhile, Valve has trolled everybody by registering (or perhaps extending) a Half-Life 3 trademark in Europe. You hear that, everybody who just wanted them to announce Half-Life 3 instead of making Steam Machines? Yeah, well, they’re still not announcing it. So. There you go.

In other PC-related announcements, Hideo Kojima has once again mentioned that Metal Gear Solid V is being developed on our beloved machine (but he’s notorious for his misdirection,) while Ubisoft have surprised precisely nobody by delaying Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag to late-ish November. Maxis has also surprised precisely nobody by managing to even turn the announcement of modding for SimCity into a confusing and disappointing PR nightmare.

This week, the podcast team has been playing F1 2013, Shadow Warrior, War of the Vikings and a little game called Battlefield 4. It is quite little at the moment actually, as it’s still in beta.

Listen to, or download, the podcast below. More podcast episodes can be uncovered like dusty relics in the archives, or over at iTunes (where they are all shiny and white and new.)
