Oh, America. I want to put a sadface here, but an article isn’t the right place for that sort of thing.

The government shutdown has resulted in a huge number of people being furloughed. Some have taken it upon themselves to help out – there are banks offering free overdrafts to furlouged employees, and restaurants offering free food – and now GOG have jumped in, in a move that’s halfway between “quite sweet” and “ridiculously tasteless.”

If you’ve been furloughed, send them an email to thanksobama@gog.com with a picture of you holding “the official furlough letter you received” and you’ll get The Guild: Gold Edition, Capitalism, Capitalism 2, Tropico: Gold Edition, Alpha Centauri + Alien CrossfireTheme Hospital, and Redneck Rampage for free. That’s something, I suppose.

If you haven’t been furloughed then those games are all 50% off for the next 24 hours, which drops most of them to between $2.99 and $4.99. And just in case you were wondering why those games are on sale… “Shutdown Promo: Showing you how government works, in case yours doesn’t!” Yeeeah. Although how Redneck Rampage factors into that, I’m not sure.

This shutdown is SUPPOSED to hurt.. that is the whole frustrating thing about the GOP manufactured crises of URGENT CHOICE to start hurting Americans in general.

If no one was hurt, there would be no shutdown, it is a political tool being used by evil men.

Only ONE party COULD open the Government this very hour if they WANTED and it isn’t the Democrats.
