amazing spider-man 2

It’s almost time for another Spider-Man movie, and that means it’s time for another Spider-Man game – in this case, the cleverly named The Amazing Spider-Man 2. I confess to being amazed by the first game, but not in a good way. I mean, I paid £10 for it and spent the next few hours feeling vaguely ripped off.

Beenox is once again taking development duties for the Activision-published game, and – judging by what co-studio head Thomas Wilson has to say – it sounds like we should expect the same sort of thing, albeit expanded. “The overwhelming message from fans was: ‘MORE!’,” said Wilson, proving my point. “That’s what our team is working toward with The Amazing Spider-Man 2 – we’re giving gamers more abilities, more upgrades, more challenges, and more freedom to progress.”

We’re promised a “greatly-enhanced” Manhattan cityscape, with a Hero or Menace system rewarding you for fighting crime and providing consequences if you just let criminals run amok like some sort of Spider-Arsehole. Expect new villains, old friends, and a bigger focus on Peter Parker.

I do not have high hopes, but then, I haven’t enjoyed a Spider-Man game since Spider-Man 2. For better or worse, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is due out alongside the film in Spring 2014.

if it’s free roam like you would see in SR4 then i would think about getting it, if it’s nothing more then a regular single player game then no TY.

It should be – the first Amazing Spider-Man was, if I remember rightly. I just don’t remember it doing the free-roaming nearly so well as, say, Spider-Man 2.
