Total War Rome 2 - 10

Sega and Creative Assembly have announced that the first patch for Total War: Rome 2 will drop this Friday.

There aren’t any deep details on what this patch will involve – the patch notes themselves will also turn up on Friday – but we’re told that “the update will address known instances of crashes due to hardware conflicts alongside several other performance fixes.”

The press release also indicates that any users having issues can currently take a look at the support forums to get a bit of help on any graphical issues they might be having. Naturally, you can also check our own post on some of the available fixes.

Total War: Rome 2 has had a bit of a troubled launch, with reports of crashes, low-res textures, horrible framerates, and a tonne of other problems. Fingers crossed this patch does something to sort them out.

[Update]: The first beta patch is available now.

This patch that we were promised on day one, will not help much at all according to the beta testers who have already been running with it. Wait a month or two, then we’ll see.

Agreed. I’ve just posted up the patch notes from this first one … not much sign of performance fixes/AI stuff yet.
