Freed from constraints: Assassin’s Creed: Liberation HD coming to PC10 Sep 2013
Ubisoft have revealed that Assassin’s Creed: Liberation, formerly a Vita-only title, will be hitting the PC in a delicious HD version.
Assassin’s Creed: Liberation focuses on Aveline de Grandpre, a French/African assassin trying to stop the Templars from taking control of Louisiana, while fighting against the slave trade. It was fairly well received on its original launch, barring the fact that its framerate was so slow that it probably should’ve been arrested for loitering; hopefully, that won’t be a problem here.
Liberation HD is more than just a port, though – other than a full graphical overhaul, Ubisoft have taken the opportunity to remaster the music and sound, revamp bits of the gameplay, and add new missions. I’m going to assume we’ll see all of these in about 50 hours of video footage before the game actually launches.
It’s due out early 2014, and it will apparently be a digital-only title – it’s due on both Xbox LIVE Arcade and PlayStation Network in addition to the PC, so I’m half-expecting this to be remarkably cheap. Screens and an announcement trailer below.
