The sky’s the limit for Call of Duty: Ghosts pre-order DLC

Call of Duty: Ghosts Free Fall

Shocking news today, as Activision announces that it’ll be front-loading pre-orders for Call of Duty: Ghosts with some extra stuff, only available to those who risk paying for the game in advance. Yes, it’s pre-order DLC time. Anybody who puts their cash down at GAME in the UK (or Gamestop in Ireland) will receive the extra multiplayer map “Free Fall” when Ghosts is released in November.

I’d imagine the same goes for US-based retailers and those in other regions too, but this news release deals only with the UK and Ireland.

“Free Fall” sticks players inside a collapsing skyscraper, which is effectively an excuse to show off Call of Duty: Ghosts’ dynamic, changeable maps. If this sounds rather similar to what Battlefield 4 is doing, then that’s probably not a coincidence. Anyhow, as the skyscraper falls, it opens up new pathways and chokepoints, while destroying others.

“Dynamic map events change the way players approach the game, and “Free Fall” does a great job illustrating this new mechanic,” says Infinity Ward’s Mark Robins. Which is presumably why they’ve made it pre-order only and restricted it to a certain portion of the player-base.

Call of Duty: Ghosts is coming in November.
