Mario Kempes

Kempes is pleased.

The Pro Evo series has gone a bit South American for its last few outings, nabbing licenses for things like the Copa Libertadores tournament. Continuing in that vein, PES 2014 will have all 20 teams from Argentina’s Primera División thanks to a deal with the Argentinian Football Association (AFA.)

That means you’ll be getting the real names of all the teams, instead of stuff like “Estuary Dining Platter” and “Boca Adolescents.”

Here are the clubs that’ll be included:

All Boys
Argentinos Juniors
Atlético de Rafaela
Boca Juniors
Gimnasia y Esgrima
Godoy Cruz
Newell’s Old Boys
River Plate
Rosario Central
San Lorenzo
Vélez Sarsfield

Wait a minute, Arsenal? Look, I know it’s been a while since you’ve won anything in England but that’s no reason to go around skipping lea … oh, I’m being told that’s actually an Argentinian club. Never mind.

PES 2014 is due this September in the US, and it is hoped that the PC release will be out the same day as the console versions. However, that’s not yet confirmed.
