RaiderZ

Gameforge has decided to close down the European servers for the monster hunting MMO RaiderZ.

Launched last year, the game has obviously not managed to capture the imagination of MMO gamers in Europe. With so many free to play MMOs now appearing, it’s no huge surprise that Gameforge has taken this decision.

A statement on their forums explains the reasoning behind the service removal:

The success of RaiderZ did not meet our expectations and as we saw no other potential alternatives to the discontinuation of the services, unfortunately we were left with no other alternative than to take this step.

European player have until midnight on 30 August to keep playing the game. In response to whether there are plans to support the game further, Gameforge suggest players switch to another operator of the game which we assume means the US servers which are operated by Perfect World.

Is the F2P MMO market becoming oversaturated with uninspiring titles? It’s looking more that way as each new one launches.

Thanks RPGReporter.
