Do you want to play Dota 2 with Tim? No, we don’t blame you. But if you want to play it with some other IncGamers regulars, then you’re in the right place.

The IncGamers Dota 2 guild is now open for business. If you want to join, go and send Tim a message (Fyzzu, on Steam, and yes this may require you to add him as a friend) and tell him you’d really like to join the IncGamers Dota 2 guild please please pretty please. And then he’ll try to work out how to actually add you, because he’s a bit new to this and was sort of hoping he could just open it up to the general public by default.

We’re not expecting this to be huge, but it’d be nice if we could get a small collective of friendly, mature Dota 2 players together for some semi-regular sessions, and the ability to open your matchmaking party to your guild should facilitate that nicely.

To that end, we’ve really only got one rule: don’t be a dick. Getting a bit heated is fair enough (I don’t think there’s been a game of Dota 2 yet where someone hasn’t frantically shouted BACK BACK BACK GET BACK GET BACK) but if you’re the sort of person who says things like “omg u suck” or “wtf was that u fkn idiot” then we don’t want you in the guild. Some sarcastic banter is fine and some raised tempers are to be expected, but keep it reasonably civil, please.

If someone in the guild is an arsehole towards you, take a screenshot (done easily enough using the Steam client) and let Tim know.

Other than that, we’re open to everyone. If you’re completely new, that’s fine; don’t expect everyone to be completely enthused if you’ve never played a match before and try to hop right into a public game, but you’ll hopefully be able to find a few people for occasional botmatches and mentoring sessions until you can hold your own. (You may also find our currently-running Beginner’s Guide to Dota 2 to be of some use.) If you’re an old pro, that’s fine too! Especially if you’re patient and willing to share your knowledge with others.

Short version: want to join the IncGamers Dota 2 guild and maybe play the game with a friendly team? If you’re not a dick and have Dota 2 installed (please do not ask for beta keys or for someone to help you get in faster, because the beta is finished and we have no control over Valve’s Dota 2 queue) then just send Fyzzu a message on Steam and ask for access.
