The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing is a game of hitting gothic beasties and making numbers and/or loot pop out of them. In other words it’s an action-RPG in the shape of Diablo and Torchlight. It also has a few new ideas of its own, which you can learn about in the IncGamers Preview.

The game is released today, as the ‘launch’ trailer below can atest.

The game is actually pretty good so far, to me it’s like Titan Quest with Torchlight in terms of the skill tree, chose your skill boosters wisely, save your points for later skills or higher versions of your current ones. I wish the tutorial would show me how to make more set skill presets which you need to use to boost your basic skill into more powerful or altered versions before using them. The tutorial is unobtrusive in that its like path of exile, shows you when you use it type of way.

Skill wise, its not like D3 where you just select a rune then use your skill, you get things like rage meters which you then push a customisable preset key you made of your chosing to pump up your skill before using it as a more enhanced or altered version. It takes a bit of getting used to but the stats and loot are easy to get into like Path of Exile.

The graphics are quite good and loot is a plenty if you like a harder challenge unlike D3 grandmar style until inferno difficulty. One minor nag is that some keys aren’t bindable if you don’t remove them from other bindings, so if thats bugging you remove the keys current binding first to one you’re not using. Bottom-line: Give it a go on Steam for £10 and will keep ya entertained until Grim Dawn.

Hope this helps anyone thinking of buying.
