Edinburgh Curiosity winner reigns in GODUS, takes percentage of earnings
Peter Molyneux finally revealed the winner of the Curiosity cube and it was a Bryan Henderson from Edinburgh.
So what did he win? What was inside the cube? It wasn’t a stack of cash but it’s not far off it. Peter explained:
“What is in the centre is only something we can grant. It is the ability to be a digital god. We are making a game called GODUS. The whole game is about being a god to your followers. You, the person who reached the centre will be the god of all people that are playing GODUS. You will decide on the rules the game is played by. And, here’s the life changing bit, you will share in the success of the product.
Every time people send money on GODUS you will get a small piece of that pie. We will follow up with details on what that means. It does mean as we break this down and analyse this, it means that you will decide on how people play. You will accrue riches from that game. From the start until the finish of you’re reign. That be any definition is life changing. You will have fame, you will have fortune, and you will have the power to to introduce morals into a game
This idea of allowing one human being to be god of an entire game genre came to us many years ago, and its only now when we are all connected, when the whole of the gaming universe is connected together, that we have the power to do it. And I hope you will find this is worth the sore fingers you may have gained through tapping, and I hope the world agrees with me that it is a worthy prize for the efforts of finding what’s inside the cube.
Thank you very much for all your efforts and thank you very much to those people that didn’t get to the centre of Curiosity.
We may, who knows, start another experiment even more intriguing. Thanks you very much.
So it’s over. I think you’ll agree Peter Molyneux’ social experiment has been a great success. Winner Bryan Henderson will be over the moon at the result, it’s a great prize for any gamer to receive.
Bryan did touch base with Wired and commented: “People are going to hate me for this, but I only registered for the game earlier this morning, about an hour before I won the thing.”Related to this story
