Following the multi-year licensing deal with Disney to create games based on the Star Wars license, EA has revealed that a new DICE studio will be opening in L.A.

The new studios will be focusing on the development of Star Wars titles and new talent will be recruited. Speaking to the The Wall-Street Journal, DICE’s Karl-Magnus Troedsson commented:

“There is an extreme talent pool over there that we want a part of. It’s no secret that our main competitor is there.”

Around sixty staff will be recruited by the end of this year and talent has also been brought in from the Medal of Honor series. With Infinity Ward and Treyarch also based on the west coast, DICE will without a doubt be looking to poach talent from their ranks.

so why again did they removed lucas arts?
this is just throwning with money, they destroy lucas arts, a name that clearly states that it’s through the vision of lucas him self, and make a new company with a new name that has absolutely nothing to do with lucas.

sometimes i wonder if there are any good game companies left, i can’t turn around and another piece of crap is “comming soon”.
