The 8.5 update for Wargaming’s World of Tanks will be with us soon and players can expect additions to the German and Russian tech trees.

The German tech tree will see the addition of the Leopard 1, a Tier X tank that’s effective in both long and short range combat. Three Soviet light tanks are being added, the T-60, T-70 and the T-80. Finally, the US tech tree will receive a new premium SPG called the Sexton.

A new map called Pearl River is also being added to the game and three existing maps, Siegfried Line, South Coast and Malinovka, are being visually revamped.

Wargaming are also going to be opening up a few premium features. Starting in 8.5, players will be able to purchase all premium consumables with silver credits and all players, both paying and non-paying, will be able to create 3-member platoons and companies.

In semi-related news, make sure you check out today’s World of Warplanes interview with Wargaming’s Vlad Belozerov.

Now on with the new WoT 8.5 screens…
