Shroud of the Avatar Kickstarter raises more than $1.9 million
Richard Garriot’s RPG Shroud of the Avatar Kickstarter campaign has now concluded almost doubling their Kickstarter goal.
The campaign has concluded raising a sizable chunk of change, $1,919,275 in total, although it was highly unlikeley the game would not have been made if it had not raised the cash. I’m pretty sure Garriot would have seen this one through.
In the final hours of the campaign the team pushed hard exciting players with new features such as house ships, lighthouses, and island castles. New tiers and rewards were also added to entice further backers as the clocked ticked down.
In total Garriot’s team has raised $2,051,260, which includes the Kickstarter cash, with a total of 23,286 backers chipping in so far.
Garriot also posted a note to all backers to say thanks which prompted responses from players with greeting such as “My Liege” and “Good Day My Lord”. Yes, that is really happening.
The team and I are greatly indebted to you, and we are eager to fulfill your desires for a great RPG!
