PODCAST 110

Na-na-na-na-na-na, Na-na-na-na-na-NA PodCAST.

Yes, we’re talking Batman this week on the IncGamers Podcast. Long-time listeners will know this a rare chance for Tim to mention Batman in legitimate circumstances. Specifically, we’ll be going over today’s reveal of Batman: Arkham Origins; what can we expect from a new studio at the helm, and will they to bring aspects of previous title Looney Tunes Scooby Doo Cartoon Universe to the series? We certainly hope so.

Last week’s news about the sudden closure of LucasArts by Disney came just too late for Podcast #109, so we talk about it here instead. If you missed our compilation of personal memories about some of the top LucasArts titles, you can read that here.

BlizzCon is back-back-back after a year off. Paul talks us through what to expect from that, and offers some wild speculation about the closure of the Diablo 3 auction house (wishful thinking, one suspects.)

Meanwhile, millionaire Richard Garriott has raised $2.0 million USD to make a game that none of us really understand yet. Good work, Garriott.

This week, we’ve been playing Defiance, ShootMania, Lords of Football and Sanctum 2. You’ll hear about them all, below.

If you missed previous episodes and (for some reason) want to hear them, you can either visit our own archives or ask iTunes nicely for some.

The way they’ve chosen to present “Shroud” is definitely confusing, but the offline/online options are basically Diablo II and Guild Wars 1 smushed together with some persistent-world stuff (like player housing) in the secure online mode.

I’m a bit skeptical, but I can’t resist anything that sounds even vaguely like Ultima Online.
