Next Assassin’s Creed title will have a new historical era, and new hero
The devious chaps over at Polygon have employed a variety of high-tech listening devices to get the new-news about Assassin’s Creed from the latest Ubisoft financial call. Ok, well, they probably just used Skype but still.
The point is, CEO of Ubisoft Yves Guillemot had this to say about the series:
“We are delighted and proud to announce today that in financial year ’14, we will introduce an all-new Assassin’s Creed hero, within an all new team and time period.”
That financial year runs from 1 April 2013 to 31 March 2014, with the latter end of that scale being the more likely release window. Guillemot also added that more news about the next Assassin’s Creed would be released “very soon.”
Explaining what appears to be a pretty quick turn-around from Assassin’s Creed 3, Guillemot confirmed that Ubisoft has multiple teams working on different “chapters” of the series. As a result, this new title may well be from a different studio (or combination of studios) than Connor’s American adventures.

The fact that they have multiple teams working on multiple games is half the problem. Lack of communication and planning between teams is why we ended up with the shitfuck that was BroHood, Revelations, and 3. (I’m talking about the weird disparity between gameplay mechanics and feature across those three games, not the overall quality of the games. Though 3 wasn’t very good.)
How about you guys have one team make one game, or learn to communicate what each team is doing to one-another so you stop leaving features that should be standard out of sequels.
