Pondsmith ponders: Cyberpunk creator reflects on working with CD Projekt

cyberpunk 2077

Last week’s Cyberpunk 2077 trailer set the fuse on some alarmingly early (the game isn’t due until 2015) hype. Hopefully CD Projekt aren’t planning on releasing stuff about the title every week for two more years, because that would be exhausting and rubbish.

This new bit of footage is quite interesting, though. In it, the creator of the Cyberpunk pen and paper game, Mike Pondsmith, talks about the origins of that RPG system and expresses his interest in the forthcoming game. He’s been closely involved with the project, so it’s likely to be conforming to his standards.

In Cyberpunk, says Pondsmith, “it’s not about saving humanity, it’s about saving yourself.” Gritty stuff.

If you’ve any interest in some behind the scenes details about how last week’s trailer was created, you should head over to co-creators Behance where they have a full run-down.

CD Projekt has also opened some forums for discussion of the upcoming game, you can find those here.
