Crytek pre-hypes a “big” Crysis 3 announcement on 23 January

I know, I know, this is an announcement about an announcement. It’s the lamest kind of pre-hype there is. Still, let’s dig out the speculato-tronic and try to figure out what Crytek will be revealing about Crysis 3 on Wednesday.

The Facebook post teasing the news reads: “This Wednesday, January 23rd. Get ready for a big Crysis 3 announcement.”

Not much to go on there, but with what we already know about the game and a release date of 19-22 February creeping up (depending where you live,) there are a couple of things it’s likely to be.

a) Open beta for the multiplayer mode.

b) A demo of single player.

c) There’s a brand new direction for the project, Prophet is now an Angry Bird and Crysis 3 is going to be a free-to-play Match 3 game.
