An update from ArenaNet highlights the work they’ve been doing to combat players utilsing bots in Guild Wars 2.

ArenaNet’s Mike Lewis released a blog update which explains the actions they’ve been taking to combat bots. In November alone they terminated in excess of 34,000 Guild Wars 2 accounts that were utilisng bots. The number of reports for bots has also dropped significantly from more that 2000 in October to 20 as of today.

ArenaNet has been monitoring players and analysing the game data to help them identify cheating players. A team of data analysts has also been working with ArenaNet to help them build tools to identify players using bots according to Mike.

The Guild Wars 2 GM staff are also being vigilant looking for bots “though manual observation” and they have a “considerble task force” in the world to eliminate bots.

ArenaNet plan on continuing their aggressive stance against cheats in Guild Wars 2.
