ArenaNet’s Mike Lewis released a blog update which explains the actions they’ve been taking to combat bots. The number of reports for bots has also dropped significantly from more that 2000 in October to 20 as of today.

ArenaNet has been monitoring players and analysing the game data to help them identify cheating players. A team of data analysts has also been working with ArenaNet to help them build tools to identify players using bots according to Mike.
