Console owners who’ve been waiting to have a bash at XCOM: Enemy Unknown and casting envious glances at the previously-released PC demo can play the trial version for themselves today (or tomorrow, for European PS3 users). The Xbox 360 demo is already available to Gold Membership types through the Xbox Marketplace.

The PS3 version is coming later today, whenever the standard PlayStation Update is issued. As noted, that means European PS3 owners will get a chance to play it tomorrow.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown was released today in the US, for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. Europe, for some reason, has to wait until Friday to get the full game.

While amusing, that butt-centric screenshot above doesn’t really help convey what the game is about. The hour of gameplay below does a better job.
