Three distinct methods of play detailed for Black Ops 2 Zombie mode

Remember the bus shown in the teaser video for the Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Zombie mode? You’ll be needing that to tour around the land in ‘Tranzit’ mode; just one of the three detailed by Treyarch today. Tranzit, you see, gives you a semi open-world for your co-op (1-4 players) zombie killing shenanigans.

Multiple destinations will be available for players to visit on their tour bus, so visiting them in a different order will change the nature of your co-op experience. You can see more of this mode in the video, below.

As well as ‘Tranzit’ (that spelling isn’t getting any better), the Blops 2 Zombie mode will offer a traditional survival experience on single maps and something called ‘Grief’. This involves two teams of four human players who take the roles of CIA and CDC (Center for Disease Control). These two organisations are fighting, but can’t directly attack one another. Instead, AI zombies must be used to ‘grief’ the opposition.

All modes can be customised to some degree, allowing you to enable specific challenges (such as ‘headshots only’) or ramp up the speed at which the difficulty level increases. These zombie modes now use the standard Call of Duty multiplayer engine, so expect stat-tracking and leaderboards too.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will be released on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 in November.
