Taleworlds is working on Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord

The tremendous medieval-style RPG sandbox that is Mount & Blade (and latterly Warband) is getting a full sequel, according to an announcement today by developer Taleworlds. It’s promising to be “bigger, bloodier and more intense than ever before” and should add “many exciting and highly requested new features.”
Sadly, the announcement stops short of saying exactly what any of those new features in Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord might be. I’d imagine a bit of an engine update might be in order (and if it makes an already mod-friendly game even easier to mod, so much the better). Maybe some better questlines to pursue, too.
Otherwise, all we have to go on this is teaser trailer which also has little in the way of detail.
Still, Mount & Blade II is being made. That has to be good news.
