PlayStation Network is set to continue its forays into the world of digital retailing with ‘Day 1 Digital’, a process that will see big-name titles from major publishers available as a digital version on the day of release. Eight titles will be part of the scheme in October, including Resident Evil 6, Dishonored, Need for Speed: Most Wanted and Assassin’s Creed 3.

Judging by the advertised prices, PSN is sticking with its policy of making digital copies just as pricey as their retail counterparts. However, you will get a 10% discount with some titles if you happen to be a PlayStation Plus member and purchase before the release date.

Here’s the list of upcoming Day 1 Digital releases:

Resident Evil 6: (Available for download on October 2nd – $59.99)
