PopCap’s Dublin office closed, 96 staff laid off
PopCap’s Dublin offices have been closed by EA, resulting in 96 staff being laid off – support for the 96 is being offered, with roles at EA, other sectors of PopCap of partners around Ireland.
The writing was pretty much on the wall last month when the company said that it was going through a consultation period in a bid to work out whether or not the Dublin office was maintainable.
PopCap’s senior PR director, Garth Chouteau, has moved to say that the company is still very much committed to the European market:
“Europe remains a critical market for PopCap,” he said, “and we will continue to grow our presence through centralized services operated from our North American offices and through the extensive European EA network.”
