Ashes Cricket 2013 opens the bowling next year

505 Games has announced that it will publish Ashes Cricket 2013 in conjunction with the games between England and Australia next year. Melbourne-based Trickstar Games (who developed International Cricket 2010) will handle the development duties.

Specifics are hard to come by at present, with more information promised “over the coming months” through the game’s official community forums. As well as the traditional Ashes tournament, it seems you’ll also have access to other modes of play (presumably One Day and 20/20 matches as well as full Test series’) with international teams. “National rivalries, venues and player personalities are perfectly captured,” 505 claims.

Up to four players will be able to compete in local multiplayer, with online play also an option. Of course, you’ll be able to bat and bowl your way through the game solo too.

Ashes Cricket 2013 is coming to PC and “home consoles” (probably Xbox 360 and PS3) next summer.
