Performance Designed Products denies Wii U launch date ‘leak’

Prior reports that a representative from peripherals company Performance Designed Products (PDP) leaked the official launch date for the Wii U have been denied in a press statement. Attendees at the Texas-based Gamestop Expo had stated that a PDP representative confirmed that their devices would be available before a Wii U launch on 18 November.
However, a press statement from PDP’s senior vice president of sales and marketing William Otte denies that the company has any knowledge of a future Wii U launch date.
“PDP simply gave a presentation of our fall line of gaming accessories to our customers at a trade event, and we stated that our accessories should be in stores by November 18,” Otte writes.
“To be clear, PDP has no knowledge whatsoever of the official Wii U release date, and thus it is not possible for PDP to have “leaked” this information.”
Official confirmation of the actual date may arrive on 13 September, when Nintendo hosts a press event in New York.
