Borderlands 2 can be made less violent with ‘Gore Toggle’

Borderlands 2 can be made less violent with ‘Gore Toggle’

I have no idea – seriously, none – why you would want to make less violent, but you can opt for that by invoking the ‘Gore Toggle’.

The game itself is be released uncensored throughout the world (including in countries with traditionally anti-violence censorship boards such as Germany and Australia), with the ability to tone down the blood and guts also present in all territories.

is “happy” about the fact that its game has survived the censors:

“We’re happy to announce that Borderlands 2 will be uncut all over the world,” Gearbox said. “Some fans will remember that the first Borderlands game was a bit toned down in certain territories compared to the rest of the world. No longer!

“Do you live in Germany? Australia? Bandits will be just as likely to explode into bloody chunks of awesomeness as they will be in Canada or England (which is to say: very likely.)”

Gearbox describes the ‘Gore Toggle’ version as “a less violent experience”.

Borderlands 2 is finished and in the process of shipping out in retail form. Gearbox is currently hard at work at the first batch of post-release DLC, a process that the game’s chief creative officer says many players don’t understand.
