LYON, FRANCE – 23 July 2012 – TEKKEN Project Director Katsuhiro Harada has made his choice from over 200 amazing remixes and more than 200 incredible pieces of art created by talented fans from every corner of the planet.  The winners of the WE ARE TEKKEN art and remix contest can now be revealed…

The winner of the remix competition as chosen by Harada-san and the TEKKEN sound team is Mickael Coste from France with his thundering remix of “Piano Intro”.  Mickael will receive a cash prize and a stack of other incredible prizes from Serato, Avid, Novation, Vestax, Juno Download and SoundCloud.
The four runners up are Vitor Payno  from Brazil with his mix of “Piano Intro”, Tom Puntman from the Netherlands with his Stereologue remix of “School”, Mattias Häggström Gerdt from Sweden with his Drinking Fountain mix of “School”, and finally Steven Thelin from Denmark with his Classi remix of “Tekstep Fountain”. In addition to the prizes that each winner will receive, all five remixes will be professionally mastered and released as a free EP by Juno Download on September 17th.

Also on September 17th, the 12 track WE ARE TEKKEN digital remix album will go on sale via Juno Download, featuring remixes by Busy P, Crookers, Logistics, Siriusmo and more.  A CD of the album will be included in the WE ARE TEKKEN European retail collector’s edition of TEKKEN Tag Tournament 2, available September 14th.

The winner of the art competition as chosen by Harada-san and his art team in Japan is Jean-Baptiste Nanteau from France with the beautiful and evocative “Jun”.  The four runners up are Lucia Romero from Spain with “The Beginning”, Ricarda Schlomach from Germany with “Furious Food Fight”, Larry Warren Jr. from the United States with “Blood Feud”, and Poramed Chonrattanakun from Thailand with “King of Iron Head”.  Check out the winning artwork and four runners up here:

All five winners will receive cash prizes and framed reproductions of their art, and have their work immortalized for all time in the TEKKEN Tag Tournament 2 official artbook alongside TEKKEN art by renowned artists Neal Adams, Frank Kozik, Jock, Superdeux and more. The impatiently awaited sequel to the legendary TEKKEN Tag Tournamentreleased in 2000, TEKKEN Tag Tournament 2 for PlayStation®3 and Xbox 360® has been rebuilt completely from the ground up for the two home consoles. The game will come loaded with tons of new features not available in the existing arcade version, including online functionality that has been comprehensively reworked in direct response to player feedback.
