FF7′s Golden Saucer could be included in FF14, says Yoshida
Final Fantasy XIV was/is a bit of flop, but would including the Golden Saucer theme park from Final Fantasy VII improve it?
Well, probably not. But it would give us something cool to talk about, and I’d be up for seeing a re-imagined version of the area.
According to the latest issue of Japan’s Famitsu magazine, FF14 producer Naoki Yoshida has said that he would like to add the Golden Saucer to the MMO. In the past, Yoshida has mentioned that he’d like to include many more nostalgic/fan service elements into the game.
Yoshida was put in charge of FF14 following poor critical reception and, prior to that, was most well known for his work on the Dragon Quest series.
In the past he has mentioned that FF7 is his favourite all-time Final Fantasy game and that he’d like to make FF14 as “powerful” as the PlayStation 1 classic.
Can’t remember the Golden Saucer? See below.
Warning: Minor spoilers if you’ve not played FF7!
