Swords and cyborgs in new Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance screens

Konami has let loose a set of new Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance screenshots. Presumably this is because it’s E3, and what better time to release new images than when everyone else is?

Revengeance is an upcoming entry into the Metal Gear Solid franchise from Bayonetta/Vanquish developers Platinum Games. The game does away with series protagonist Solid Snake and the core elements of stealth gameplay, replacing them with Raiden (how appeared in MGS2) and an action-combat focus.

As you can see, it’s looks mental. Awesomely mental. If it’s half as good as Bayonetta it’ll twice as good as most other games.

Revengeance is due early 2013 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
