Age of Empires Online now on Steam

Microsoft’s free-to-play Age of Empires Online is now on Steam. 
While the base game is free, there are no less than 11 add-on packs each costing £3.25 each. Some pack unlock new civilisations to play as, some provide in-game items and some in-game currency.
Peter Parrish reviewed Age of Empires Online when it was first released last year. Awarding the game 6/10, Peter said that:
“…despite the charming visual overhaul (or perhaps because of this), the game leaves a nagging impression of having being designed a little too much by a committee trying to use a recognised series to pounce on prevailing ‘social gaming’ trends.”
