Microsoft Flight lands in spring – Beta sign-ups now live

4 Jan 2012 by Paul Younger
Microsoft has announced that Microsoft Flight will be released for the PC this spring and sim fans can also get their names down now for the Beta test. When it's released, the game will be completely free to download and play with the first scenario being the island of Hawaii. Additional content will also be released for free on Games for Windows Live including the Boeing Stearman plane, supplementary missions, and access to Achievements and an Online Pilot Profile. The first aircraft to be released for free will be the ICON A5 which is descibed as the "jet ski for the skies" and designed by the engineers behind the Voyager spaceship, X-Prize winning SpaceShipOne, and Virgin Galatic’s SpaceShipTwo. Microsoft will be wanting to make a few bucks from the game so additional content such as new aircraft, regions and customization options will be available for a price and daily challenges will also be released for budding pilots. A new video of Microsoft Flight in action has also just landed and this should make your joysticks stand to attention.
