Jagged Alliance’s ‘Plan & Go’ system visualised

If, like me, you’re quite sure whether Jagged Alliance: Back in Action’s ‘Plan & Go’ control system means the game is turn-based or not, these images may help (a bit).
Here’s what Kalypso and bitComposer Games have to say about the system: “The Plan & Go system could be described as an extended ‘real time with pauses’ system. Back in Action essentially runs in real time, but the game can be paused at any time”. During those pauses you can plan stuff out (sort of like in Frozen Synapse, but without being able to simulate the results), so you can break up the action but things don’t seem to take place in distinct ‘turns’.
Um, at least, I think that’s what it all means.
You know, a trailer or gameplay footage would really have helped clear this matter up. Instead, we have some screenshots.
Jagged Alliance: Back in Action will be coming to the PC in early 2012.
